Employer identification number, or EIN, is a unique number assigned by the IRS to every business in the United States. It is also known as federal employer identification number, FEIN.
The EIN is often used as a business’s tax identifier. It helps the IRS track a company’s tax payments and filings. In addition, it allows companies to receive government contracts and grants. Having an EIN also makes it easier for businesses to do business with the government.
To get an EIN, you’ll need to contact the International Revenue Service. You can find more information about obtaining an EIN on the official IRS website.
